Understanding 34mm Sizing

The Mini Magflap is 34mm in diameter - approximately the size of a £2 coin. This size fits:

How to Check Fitment:

Method 1 - Measure Existing Escutcheon:
If you have an existing keyhole cover, measure its diameter with a ruler. If it's 34mm or smaller, Mini Magflap will fit. If it's larger than 34mm, you'll have a size gap.

Method 2 - Coin Test:
Hold a £2 coin over your keyhole. If the coin covers the keyhole opening completely, Mini Magflap will fit (£2 coins are approximately 28mm - smaller than the 34mm Mini Magflap).

Method 3 - Direct Measurement:
Use a ruler to measure the widest point of your keyhole opening. If it's less than 30mm wide, Mini Magflap will cover it with room to spare.

What if My Keyhole is Larger?

If your existing keyhole escutcheon is larger than 34mm, or you have no existing escutcheon and the keyhole opening itself is very wide, Mini Magflap may not provide full coverage. Contact us for custom sizing options or alternative solutions for oversized keyholes.

Stick-On Installation (No Tools Required):

Step 1 - Clean Surface (30 seconds)
Wipe the door area around your keyhole with rubbing alcohol or household cleaner. Remove any dust, grease, or old adhesive. Allow surface to dry completely - adhesion requires clean, dry surface.

Step 2 - Remove Existing Escutcheon (if present)
If you have an old keyhole cover, remove it first. Most escutcheons unscrew with one central screw or peel off if adhesive-mounted. Clean any remaining adhesive residue with rubbing alcohol.

Step 3 - Position Mini Magflap (30 seconds)
Hold Mini Magflap over keyhole without removing backing film. Check alignment - the keyhole opening should be visible through the Mini Magflap's aperture. Mark position lightly with pencil if needed.

Step 4 - Peel and Stick (30 seconds)
Peel the protective film from the adhesive backing. Align Mini Magflap over keyhole and press firmly for 30 seconds. Apply even pressure across entire surface to ensure full adhesive contact.

Step 5 - Test Operation (30 seconds)
Insert your key through the magnetic disc - it should open easily. Remove key - disc should self-close magnetically and seal completely. If disc doesn't close fully, check that nothing is obstructing the magnetic closure.

Screw-Fix Installation (Screwdriver Required):

Step 1 - Remove Existing Escutcheon
Unscrew and remove any existing keyhole cover. Clean the mounting area.

Step 2 - Position Mini Magflap
Hold Mini Magflap over keyhole. The central screw hole should align with your existing screw hole (if present) or mark a new hole if installing fresh.

Step 3 - Screw Secure
Insert provided screw through central hole and tighten with Phillips screwdriver. Do NOT overtighten - snug fit only. Over-tightening can warp the magnetic disc mechanism.

Step 4 - Test Operation
Insert key and check smooth magnetic operation.

Troubleshooting:

- Adhesive Won't Stick:
- Surface must be clean and dry
- Temperature should be above 10°C for optimal adhesion
- Press firmly for full 30 seconds
- Allow 24 hours for adhesive to cure fully before heavy use

Magnetic Disc Won't Close:
- Check nothing is obstructing the closure (dust, paint residue)
- Ensure screw isn't over-tightened (for screw-fix installation)
- Magnetic disc should move freely - if binding, loosen screw slightly

Key Won't Insert Smoothly:
