Who stocks it

The letterbox is the biggest unsealed hole in most front doors. Here's why that matters to you.

Ironmongers

An add-on to every letterplate you sell, in finishes that match your door furniture.

Builders' merchants

A counter sale for anyone fitting or refurbishing a front door.

Door and window installers

An easy extra on the quote, and one less "my new door is draughty" callback.

Retrofit installers

A draught-proofing measure for the letterbox, fitted with a screwdriver.

Landlords and agents

The Magflap started on one of our own rentals. It fixes a winter complaint without a new door.

Councils and housing associations

A low-cost measure an operative can fit on any repair visit. We've supplied a council before.

Against a brush excluder

What your customers notice in the first winter.

Brush excluder Magflap MK3
Seal Bristles flatten over time and leave gaps Magnetic seal that closes after every delivery
Post Can crumple letters and catch parcels Opens cleanly for post
Noise Can rattle and bang in the wind Held shut by magnets, so it stays quiet
Build Usually plastic and nylon Steel and cork, 99% recyclable materials

Who you'll deal with

A family business, not a call centre.

Louis and his father Nick made the first Magflap while improving the energy efficiency of a rental property. The letterbox let the cold in and nothing on the market was good enough, so they engineered their own.

Fifteen years on, the Magflap is in its third generation and every one is still hand-assembled in Leicester. When you email us, Louis or Nick will reply.

Questions

Anything else, email info@magman.uk.

Will it fit my customers' letterboxes?

The MK3 Horizontal fits standard UK horizontal letterboxes with a 70mm aperture. The MK3 Vertical fits 220 × 65mm portrait letterboxes on doors 35–70mm thick. If there are bolts or an uneven surface behind the letterbox, the optional rear gasket gives 28mm of clearance instead of 10mm. Send us a photo if you're unsure.

How long does fitting take?

About 10 minutes for an MK3 with a screwdriver, inside or outside the door. The Mini Magflap sticks on in under 2 minutes.

What's the minimum order?

10 units per SKU. Order a sample first if you want to see it, and we'll take the sample cost off that first order.

How does the sample credit work?

Buy the sample through our shop, then quote that order number when you place your first trade order. We deduct what you paid for the sample.

How quickly can you deliver?

Our lead time on trade orders is 5 working days.

Are trade prices with or without VAT?

Without. We add VAT at 20% to trade invoices.

Do Magflap products comply with fire safety regulations?

Some of our trade customers have independently tested Magflap products for compliance with fire regulations and confirmed they passed, including for installation in large residential blocks. Magflap does not currently hold formal fire-safety accreditation or certification, and we make no fire-safety claims about our products. Where compliance has been confirmed, it was through testing arranged independently by the customer. If fire performance matters for your project, arrange your own testing and satisfy yourself that the product meets the requirements for your application.

Is there a guarantee?

Every product has a 1-year manufacturer's guarantee, and we can refurbish MK3 units after that.

Can you quote for a housing programme or large estate?

Yes. Tell us the number of doors and the letterbox types, and we'll quote for the whole job.
